SEPTA Kicks Reporter Out Of Public Meeting

Hall Monitor consumer reporter Lance Haver was asked to leave a SEPTA meeting after he publicly dared to ask tough questions on April 15, 2026.

The person chairing the April 15 hearing? The same one who illegally approved a 45 per cent SEPTA service cut last year. Philly’s public transit service is once again trying to cut routes without telling anyone, Haver says.

One of the routes that’s likely to see fewer buses per hour runs through South Philly. Haver wants to know which neighborhoods stand to lose, and which ones stand to gain, from SEPTA’s latest proposed route changes.

Watch Haver and the rest of the Philadelphia Hall Monitor’s weekly livestream every Wednesday on our YouTube channel, as we look at the local decisions that shape our daily lives.

Our reporters sit through hours of city council meetings, dig through piles of documents, and ask tough questions other media overlook. Because we’re committed to addressing Philadelphia’s poverty crisis — and challenging those who sustain it. If you think this work is important too, please support our journalism.
